Sod questions we get asked
When is the best time to lay sod?
Spring and early fall are ideal in the GTA, when temperatures are mild and there's more rain. Sod can go down in summer too, but it needs more watering.
How long before I can use the lawn?
Keep foot traffic off for about two to three weeks while the roots set. The first mow usually comes once the sod has rooted and the grass has grown in.
Do you remove the old lawn?
Yes. Removing the old turf and preparing the soil is part of every install. Laying sod on top of an old lawn is one of the main reasons new sod fails.
Are you insured?
Yes. $5M general liability and full WSIB coverage. Certificates are available on request.
